First time Grandma?

Creative who NEEDS 2 days to themselves?

We will provide all the materials, food and drink, plus all the guidance, encouragement and inspiration so you can create a beautiful and personal heirloom doll to take home and cherish.

  • Emily and Emma - professional makers with almost 50 years experience between us. Clothes, costumes, props and puppets, we may even have inspired your children over the last 10 years of Creativity Clubs!

  • Emily is calm, precise and information led.

Emma is playful and creates based on feelings and experience.

Between us we cover most bases and can make almost anything!

  • This may be your first foray into creativity for wellbeing, or you may be a seasoned sewist or maker with no time or room for 2 whole days of creating. Either way we will guide and encourage in just the right amount…

  • You decide if you’d prefer to sew your own body (we have straight stitch and overlocker machines available to use), or whether you’d like us to prep you a doll so you can concentrate on face, hair, clothes and embellishments.

Whichever you choose you will have the time, space and materials to be self-directed as much as you wish.

10.30am-4.30pm both days with refreshments always available. Plus a vegetarian lunch served buffet style so you can take it when you need it.

  • Chandos Atelier is on the much loved Chandos Road in Bristol BS6.

We will have the use of 2 workrooms set over 2 floors only accessible via stairs. There is a big dining room with access to a beautiful courtyard garden if the weather is on our side. A kitchen area with tea and coffee making facilities, plus a lounge room with great natural light if you prefer to stitch in a comfy chair!

This is a really special building with art and creativity at it’s heart - the perfect place to immerse yourself in making.
